June 1 kicks off Pride Month; celebrate and find resources

June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. In recognition of our staff, students and families in this community, we say loudly: We see you. We stand with you. We support you.

Oasis Youth Center
“Oasis Youth Center transforms the lives of queer youth by creating a safe place to learn, connect, and thrive. Oasis envisions a world in which queer youth are valued in the community as strong, creative leaders. Oasis is a youth-adult partnership in which young people and adults come together for shared teaching, learning and action.”

Rainbow Center
“Through education, advocacy, and celebration, Rainbow Center expands resources and safe space for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, two-spirit, and allied (LGBTQ2SA) community.”

Diversity Alliance of Puget Sound (DAPS)
“Diversity Alliance of the Puget Sound (DAPS) is a Non-Profit Organization that works to support 18+ transgender and gender diverse individuals through direct service such as support groups, advocacy, and financial aid. We are based in Tacoma, but serve all of Washington State.”

Tacoma Pride Festival
Tacoma Pride Festival is an annual community event hosted by Rainbow Center and held on the second Saturday of July.

“We take pride in honoring the LGBTQIA2S+ community by celebrating who we are as valuable and creative members of a diverse population in the South Puget Sound region. As the largest Pride celebration in Tacoma, we understand the importance of creating opportunities to support our local community of entertainers, makers, artists, businesses and organizations to offer a more inclusive representation of who we are.”

Puyallup Tribe Pride Festival

Northwest 2-Spirit Society
“This group is open to those who identify as Two-Spirit. Two-Spirit people being those who are Aboriginal/First Nation/Native American/American Indian/Alaskan Native AND Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender. NWTSS' Mission is to educate society regarding First Nation and Two-Spirit histories and traditions, to ensure community cohesion through the promotion of health, Two-Spirit visibility, and to provide training and outreach to the Native and non-Native communities of the Northwest.”

GLSEN Washington
“GLSEN wants every student, in every school, to be valued and treated with respect, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We believe that all students deserve a safe and affirming school environment where they can learn and grow.

NAMI Pierce County

The Trevor Project
